Harvest Noir is an elegant "dress your best in black" picnic and dance party that will commemorate the autumn harvest in one of the region’s very finest venues (a secret to attendees until the last minute!).

Harvest Noir emphasizes locally-harvested seasonal fresh food at the table, and complements the dinner elegance with a fabulous DJ, live dance music, and surprises and circus performers sprinkled throughout the evening.

Inspired by Paris

Following the trend from Paris, Lyon, Amsterdam, Munich, Zurich, Berlin, New York City and Montréal, now Ottawa will have its first chic picnic! Variously labeled as a gastronomique flash mob, pop up picnic, guerrilla tea time, or rogue supper club, such sumptuous events are taking the world’s great cities by storm - inspired by a 23-year tradition of genteel annual picnic dining in Paris (view on YouTube).

The Event of the Year?

To reflect the spirit of the original event in Paris, guests must dress their best in black (tuxedos not required), bring their own table settings and bring their own food (local wherever possible) that expresses their own culinary creativity. For the convenience of our guests, cash bar for alcohol, tables and chairs will be provided. As a participatory event, creativity, self-expression, and good manners are mandatory. At the end of the picnic, guests will pack up dishes and dispose of waste leaving no trace of the revelry, before parading in grand style to the mother of all dance parties (indoor).
