Harvest Noir is a sought-after secret event in three acts: a “chic” picnic, a pop-up parade, and a DJ dance party at one of Ottawa's finest venues. Groups of friends dressed in vintage black celebrate the harvest, local food and wine/beer.
Lead by a funky parade band, the guests will depart the picnic grounds and march in a fantastic Mad Hatter Parade through downtown Ottawa, leaving surprised tourists and jealous passers-by in their wake. Includes a triumphant mass wave of 1000+ fiery sparklers wielded by guests.
A large phalanx of guests in black tie finery will converge on a different secret location before the picnic, and then pedal in stately procession together to a triumphant late arrival at the picnic grounds where the other guests will be unpacking and setting up.
Following the trend from Paris, Amsterdam, Zurich, Berlin, New York City and Montréal, now Ottawa has its own chic picnic! Variously labeled as a gastronomique flash mob, guerrilla tea time, or rogue supper club, such sumptuous events are taking the world’s great cities by storm - inspired by a 23-year tradition of genteel annual picnic dining in Paris (view on YouTube).
At the last minute, the location is revealed to groups of friends on the limited guest list. Elegantly-dressed diners head to the secret destination toting picnic baskets stuffed with locally-harvested food they've prepared, set up a feast at their assigned tables, and celebrate the harvest with friends and family. Guests will enjoy the dining experience of the year, accompanied by glasses of fine local bubbly, wine and beer, and refined live music by a 13-piece orchestra.

A few days before the event, Harvest Noir attendees will pull on their top hats and fancy fascinators and meet for a mass shopping flashmob at farmer's markets to buy the ingredients for their picnic feasts. No one but our guests will know where and when this will happen.
